Ant-Man is a Marvel film that was released earlier this year (for all you time travelers that don’t know what year it is, it’s 2015). The film is based on the comic book by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby which started quite a while ago.
Starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man wasn’t the best for me to start with, I could only see him as Mike from friends (Phoebe’s Boyfriend/Husband). When I finally got over the fact that he wasn’t with Phoebe in Ant-Man and he wasn’t cheating on her I settled down and enjoyed the film. As an actor I think they got the perfect guy for the part, he has the possibly shady look when he pulls the cheeky smile everybody loves.
Scott was chosen by the scientist (and ex Ant-Man (Dr. Hank Pym)) who made the Ant-Man suit/helmet. The Ant-Man power is that he can shrink down to the size of an ant have when he is in this form he has super strength that would put Mr Incredible to shame, while he is in his micro for he also has the ability to control ants that Hank had put teeny tiny helmets on. This includes fire ants, flying ants, standard ants and more. Hank bought Millions of ants so he could form this (huge) tiny army. (See what I did there?).
Darren Cross/Yellowjacket is the bad guy in this marvel film, where Ant-Man want’s to use this ability for the good and to help people, Yellowjacket want it for the exact opposite (Obviously). I see Yellowjacket as a mix between Ant-Man and Dr Octopus as he can shrink like Ant-Man and he has extra mechanical legs just like Doc Oc. Darren use to work with Dr Pym (The dude who made the Ant-Man suit) and that is how he learnt about the ability and as he wasn’t allowed to use the suit he made one of his own. I’m not going to go into the entire thing of Yellowjacket as I reckon a lot of people haven’t seen this film so I won’t give it all away.
The best part of the film for me was when The Falcon and Ant-Man were fighting. Scott would keep changing size during the fight to throw off Sam (The falcon), he would bracing for a punch (for example) in but instead Scott shrunk down and climbed in his suit. With the super strength Scott has he is able to grab the falcon and just whip him around like Hulk did to Loki. The fight scene might not have been that long but it definitely pushed the film up my favorite list, as standard I don’t want to drop any spoilers for anyone so I’ll stop here. If you haven’t yet, watch this film, buy the DVD, steal it from a friend or go back in time. Do whatever it takes to see this film.
